L’Urederra leads the project “Large scale production of tailored nano-oxides by advanced, high-output, high-versatility Flame Spray Pyrolysis” (ADVANCE- FSP), that is funded by the Seventh European Research and Development Program.

The aim of this project is to design a system for producing nanoparticles on an industrial scale, whose size is around the 4 nanometers.

The application chosen for the demonstration of this technology is to develop advanced catalytic for exhaust pipes in the area of automotive. The catalyst is a nano-based mixed oxide of cerium and zirconium where it will be deposited, as appropriate, platinum or palladium. This project also considers the production of cerium-zirconium-cerium-zirconium and platinum-palladium triple systems, thus simplifying the manufacturing process of the catalyst.
