Kerafrit Corp. (belonging to the group Keraben) has won the Gold Award 2009 for Alfa product development Nanoglace, which has taken two basic patents developed by a group of researchers at the Instituto de Ciencia de Materiales de Madrid (ICMM).

Nanoglace is a new line of glazes containing nanoparticles that confer properties such as hydrophobicity, bactericidal and fungicidal, easy to insert luminescent or magnetic labels and new decorative effects based on colors and brightness.

Alfa de Oro Awards, granted by the Spanish Society Ceramics and Glass, is designed to stimulate creativity, technology and art, providing the recognition of experts accredited from the ceramic industry to the I+D+i effort: Investigation, Development and Investment.
