The combined development program between Samsung Electronics and Unidym Inc., has launched the first carbon nanotube-based colour active matrix electrophoretic (EPD) display e-paper. The International Meeting on Information Display at KINTEX, Ilsan, Korea was the place chosen to present this e-paper. Unidym Inc. developed the carbon nanotube transparent electrode used.

The collaboration between Samsung Electronics already gave rise to the first 23 inch black and white active matrix EPD made with carbon nanotubes in may 2008.

Unidym Inc. merged in 2007 with Carbon Nanotechnologies Incorporated, a nanotechnology spin-off company established by Richard Smalley, the Nobel Prize and Rice University Professor.
