Cleaning up oil spills with Nanotechnology

Remembering Exxon Valdez in Alaska or Prestige in Galicia …. An innovation in nanotechnology published in Nature Nanotechnology by the team led by Francesco Stellacci and Jing Kong (Massachusetts Institute of Technology,) has created a paper-like substance that can absorb up to 20 times its weight in oil. This material should make cleaning up future oil spills a lot easier. (read more)
